Steven Kavanaugh has more than 38 years of development experience, with particular emphasis on planned giving at educational institutions. During his most recent college-level tenure, Steve was responsible for raising $63.4 million in planned gifts for a $269 million campaign.

His background includes initiating gift annuity programs, developing marketing plans for gift promotion, cultivating and soliciting prospects and donors for planned and major gifts, recruiting and training volunteers, assisting in the structuring of six- and seven-figure gifts, developing communications materials pertaining to gift planning, and supervising the administration and management of life income accounts. His work contributed to the success of major fundraising campaigns at two universities.

Steven has also worked as a planned giving consultant for the past 25 years. During this time, he has provided counsel to a wide range of institutions, including museums, social service groups, educational institutions, healthcare and scientific organizations, and environmental charities.

Steven received a B.A. in psychology from Earlham College in Indiana. He belongs to several fundraising-oriented professional organizations, including the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (since 1980), Association of Fundraising Professionals/National Society of Fund Raising Executives (since 1983), American Council on Gift Annuities (since 1983), Philadelphia Estate Planning Council (since 1989), and the National Committee on Planned Giving. He formerly was a board member of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning, Greater Philadelphia Chapter.

Steven resides in Berwyn, Pennsylvania.
