Search for Director of Development for Holy Cross Family Ministries, North Easton, MA

Reporting to and in partnership with the President of HCFM, the Director of Development will spearhead development initiatives to support the mission.  The Director of Development will be responsible for establishing a comprehensive development effort for HCFM.  The Director of Development, in collaboration with the President and the Board of Directors, will have the opportunity to build the development department both strategically and functionally.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership in conceiving and implementing a comprehensive development program, including timeline and measurable outcomes.
  • Build an annual fund/direct mail program through appeals and communications.
  • In concert with administrative leadership, identify needs and develop a case for support.
  • Work closely with the President and Board in identifying major gift prospects.
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with prospects for solicitation of major gifts.
  • Coordinate the planned giving program, including identification of prospects, marketing and cultivation, solicitation and recognition of donors.
  • Develop and oversee the tracking of proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising.
  • Oversee development staff and their activities, including gift processing, prospect research, grant writing and drafting of print communications, etc.
  • Oversee management of data entry, gift processing, acknowledgement and recognition of gifts.
  • Interact with individuals, the local community, civic organizations, corporations, foundations and volunteers to promote the ministry and needs of HCFM.
  • Collaborate with President to foster Board development.

Qualifications:

  • BA (required)
  • 5+ years of experience in development
  • Excellent organizational, managerial, along with written and oral communications skills
  • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge or similar fundraising database platforms
  • Evidence of interest and/or ability to successfully grow a development program
  • Evening/weekend work occasionally required, as well as travel to cultivate donors throughout the country
  • Understanding and knowledge of the practices, principles and policies of the Roman Catholic Church and the HCFM prayer ministry
